🌿 Collaborative Decision Making in Action – Sociocracy Workshop (Brussels)
📅 1 May 2026

Are you a pioneer, initiator, activist, or community builder working on projects that matter?

Do you have strong ideas, shared passion, and good intentions, but find that collaboration sometimes breaks down into confusion, endless meetings, or decisions that never quite land?

Many meaningful projects fail not because of a lack of vision or commitment, but because of communication, alignment, and governance challenges.

This one day workshop is designed to change that.

🤝 A practical approach to working together

Sociocracy is a proven method for collaborative decision making and organisational governance, developed and refined over more than 100 years and now widely used in eco villages, community projects, co housing initiatives, and activist groups.

It supports groups to work in a way where:

  • Everyone’s voice is heard and valued
  • Power is shared more evenly rather than concentrated
  • Decisions are clear, transparent, and consent based
  • Meetings become purposeful and action oriented

It also forms part of the governance inspiration behind movements such as Extinction Rebellion’s principles of decentralised and participatory organisation.

This workshop offers a lightweight, practical and accessible approach to sociocracy so that groups can start using it immediately without unnecessary complexity.

🛠️ What we will explore and practise

Over the day we will:

  • Explore the patterns that cause breakdown in group decision making
  • Understand how consent based decision making works in practice
  • Learn tools for clearer communication and shared responsibility
  • Practise collaborative processes through real examples and exercises
  • Explore a simplified, adaptable approach to sociocracy for real world use

The focus is not just theory, but experiencing how better collaboration actually feels and functions in practice.
